Fundraisers and events are essential to keep finances and awareness flowing to support Abdoulaye's family and and associated medical and rehabilitaitve care. Continual efforts will be made to remind us of what a great man we are supporting here.
Moussa Traore and Djeneba Sako's Benefit tour for Abdoulaye:
August 13th - 17th
Master Drummer Moussa Traore and Master Dancer Djeneba Sako of Mali, West Africa, will be coming to teach 5 days of drum and dance classes in the Bay area to help raise funds for Master Drummer Abdoulaye Diakite. Due to their tremendous skill, grace, and teaching abilities, Moussa and Djeneba are two of the most saught after teachers in the country. You will have a chance not only to learn with two of the current greatest teachers in their respective fields, but also to support a wonderful master teacher in need: Abdoulaye Diakite. A large portion of the funds raised in classes will go to Abdoulaye and his fmaily during his recovery from carbon monoxide poisoning. Join the fun, informative, and supportive series of classes from August 13th through the 17th and prepare for a wonderful, dynamic experience!! (class schedules below).

All you gotta do is SHOW UP and enjoy another fantastic night of rhythm, dance and generosity in support of Abdoulaye Diakite!
This time hosted by the Ashkenaz Music and Dance Community Center on San Pablo Ave in Berkeley, we want to see another packed house, full of smiling faces and raging dance feet. All of the proceeds will be used to provide financial support Abdoulaye's family as well as any associated medical and rehabilitative care.
